Students and people attending the Twilight Workshop $5.00

Showcasing The Point Preschool's sustainable building, projects and practices 

and an opportunity for you to meet eco businesses and services.

Fun activites for the children and family featuring games, yoga,  live

music, storytelling, organic food, eco-crafts, short films,  fair trade toys,

books, art,  learn how to look after chickens and tadpoles; water tank,

worm farm and recycling advice and connect with nature.

Thank you to all our friends who joined us to complete this wonderful collaborative community project.

A very special thank you to Les Bursill, Dharawal Elder and great friend of The Point Preschool, for your knowledge and guidance; Sutherland Shire Council for growing and donating all the trees, donating and delivering the mulch and preparing the planting site; Jon Dee and daughter Estelle for your friendship, organisation and cooking the BBQ; Do Something for donating all the delicious vegetarian food for our BBQ; Bradley from SSC Bush Care for your hard work, never ending enthusiasm and joyful approach to bush care; Tiffany from Prana Republic Yoga for your beautiful yoga in the reserve; Peter Morgan, our favourite musician, for your music and singing; Sutherland Shire Council for growing all the trees for us; Oyster Bay Scouts for spreading the mulch for us - we just could not have planted our trees without your help; Victoria Pantelis, Principal of Como School, for your friendship and for always supporting our  projects; all the students and teachers of Como School for your energy and commitment to completing the planting and for the amazing DVD; the students from St George and Sutherland Community College for your delight in being part of the tree planting; Mary Jacobs from NSW Tafe Loftus Campus for your friendship and support of all our projects and bringing along your students from child studies who so caringly supported our preschoolers; Planet Ark for the tree protectors; Greenpoint Astronomical Society for your support of the project and collaboration; the educators and families of the children of The Point Preschool for your continued support and time;

]]>WWF Earth Hour and the WWF Panda visit The Point Preschoolhttp://www.thepointpreschool.com.au/news/2012/1/30/wwf-earth-hour-and-the-wwf-panda-visit-the-point-preschool.htmlThe Point Preschool2012-01-30T05:08:15Z2012-01-30T05:08:15ZWe were all so excited at the end of the year to have a visit from the WWF Earth Hour's Marni Ryan and the WWF Panda.  Why Documentaries filmed at our place over 2 days to create a DVD to inspire other schools to take up the sustainability challenge and to enter the Going Beyond the Hour - WWF Earth Hour Awards. We are the very proud winners of the 2011 Inaugural WWF Earth Hour People's Choice Award. 
 
The filming was a great experience and the children were amazing.   The highlight for the children was dancing with Panda to one of our favourite Peter Morgan songs.

A well as showcasing our sustainable building, practices and projects, you will have the opportunity to meet local and community green business and services. The children will be delivering sustainable workshops and it will be a great day for families to connect with nature, have fun and learn how to nurture each other and our planet.
 
Our Twilight Workshop for Educators will be held on the evening of Friday 23rd March.

We are so proud to announce that we have received a World Leadership Gold Certification with GreenBizCheck for our Sustainability practices.
 
We have integrated a workplace Sustainability Program to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. In order to qualify for 'Gold Level Certification' we have successfully implemented more than 90% of environmental standards in our workplace. The Point Pre School's commitment to improving our sustainability means that we have assess our current operations and put in place measures to reduce our use of non renewable resources, waste to landfill, use of paper products and water. This independent certification program is provided by GreenBizCheck and facilitated by CoEfficiency Australia.
